I collect shiny metal like a magpie.
Knives, pans, tables, cutlery, trays etc.
Even bits of the walls in my kitchen truck.
I fuckin' love stainless steel.
Cool stuff. Real helped advance a lot of technologies. French idea, invented by the Brits, perfected by the Germans and industrialized by the Americans. The Western world is fucking awesome.

No more polishing your silver cutlery every day. Can have one fewer servant and spend the money saved on vintage port.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Flush toilets were a backward step. Huge amounts of wasted water and a loss of good compost.

Without a flushing toilet, cities would still be infested with diseases like cholera, dude. That's the way shit is in places like Africa to this day.

Composting is great for people in the country. Who farm or garden.

Huge cities need running water to individual households instead of common wells, connections to sewage systems in every structure, and private toilets in each home. Bare minimum.

Biggest you can get without those things and not have rampant epidemics is not really so big. Probably London was the high water mark for such cities.

I think even the Brazilian favelas have running water at least.

If all this doesn't end up leading to relativistic velocity, its all meaningless anyways, so obviously air conditioning, you're not getting very far without heat dissipation.

Shitting in the streets is what causes outbreaks of diseases. Composting toilets are no more dangerous than flush toilets.
Given the investment they could even collect methane for fuel as a side bonus.

Composting toilets in cities is a fucking disaster waiting to happen.
