Any normal responsible person having (accidentally) dropped say (likely) their smartphone into the machinery that produces them would have immediately shut down the production line to throw away that batch and clean the equipment.
Unfortunately we've turned people into frightened sacks of shit, or possibly even illegals who run it, who are more worried about covering their own asses than worrying about the potential impacts it could have on others.
