Marco Polo TV series worth watching?

Post by Hwen Hoshino »

Now that it was cancelled i am really curious. Especially if i like series that stick close to the spirit of the age with no modern sensibilities nonsense. Should i give it a shot?

Yeah I watched the first few episodes. It's ok. It's Netflix though so whatever. Romanticized as fuck probably.

Lots of "modern sensibilities nonsense". Season 2's gonna have a major historical, and geographical for that matter, inaccuracy bordering on the absurd. Still good as an action series.

Not if you think it follows history in any way.

A few decent fight scenes.

Lots of heroes in shinning armor? What do you mean by "modern sensibilities nonsense"?

As we say in poker;
all the information is on the table
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Female warriors. One female seriously plans to become the next Khan. That part is fucking stupid.

Like he said, the geographical stuff is absurd. Polo could be in East Asia one minute, and then travel to Syria to meet the Hashishim like it's just a few weeks journey. In reality, that could have taken years, and in a small group, would be extremely dangerous.

But there are some cool fight scenes, especially with the guy who fights in some kind of Northern Kung Fu. There is a guy that fights preying mantis style that is pretty cool. Not sure if even that is accurate, though. No southern styles.

Some of the Asian chicks are attractive. A few good nip shots.

Other than that.. blah.

Were they dread warriors with six inch arms, who planned to be made Khan? Probably not.
