Be careful with Gladwell. That guy plays fast and loose with the facts for narrative purposes:

Good podcast.

The presenter does a good job of laying out his pov, but I'm not sure racially profiling country music vs rock is accurate.

I didn't hear a single 'racial' aspect to it... It's definitely an urban/rural divide, and for the reasons that he laid out - the open emotion is uncomfortable for isolates city rats, used to maintaining an air of indifference.

That said, it's pretty fucking clear who listens to country music, and it ain't Snoop Dogg

You better listen again. The smug bitch profiled country as white, protestant, southern.......explained how diverse rock was, then likened country to gangsta rap criminals

Well, he's right. Rap and country are always going to be black and white music, Eminems and Ruckers be damned. That's just the nature of the beast.

"Southern" is certainly disputable, but the rest is true.

Just finished Dangerous History Ep. 145, "Scott Horton on Afghanistan".

I'm buying this dude's book. Very intelligent analysis of the clusterfuck happening in the ME, and how we got there.

Thanks for admitting I'm right about the racial profiling.
