I don't think he would have, MAGA is back, Sanders couldn't have stopped it, he's too much of an America hating secret commie, MAGA would have crushed him worse than it crushed Hillary, in the districts which counted, Trump is not right wing enough to drive the swing voters away, but Sanders is too left wing to come with that shit and beat MAGA, the nationalism card is ascendant worldwide, not just in America, but it sho is asendant in those swing districts in Ohio et al.

He didn't tack to the centre though, he was up there against Hillary, pandering to the hard left wing of the Democrat party, that boxed him out against Hillary, if Sanders was going to ride some Lefty Weft Bernie Bros wave all the way to the WH, then the Superdelegates wouldn't have been able to stop him, they can only do so much, and would only do so much, in the path of a wave, but the wave wasn't there.
