I honestly believe that China believes they have an upper hand with the virus going around. They are clearly building to something with all of that international progerganda and it's not good for the US nor the world. On one hand they are trying to build up their exports with faulty equipment, piss poor PR attempt to not only look good but as heros/victims, and also ramp up anti-US hatred around the world and here in the US.

6 months ago Democrats were whining about Trump starting a trade war with China. Now he's supposedly in owned by them. They can't even keep their TDS stories straight to make them sound even somewhat coherent together.

China's not some evil mastermind empire. They are a corrupt, one-party totalitarian state, where blind obedience to higher social status is paramount and where competency that speaks against CCP's approved experts' face-saving talking points, gets silenced. It's a country where buildings fall down because they're more about building shit fast, not about it lasting. A country with a super-rich elite... made up of people at the top of the CCP membership and their kids. Who then go on to take jobs they're not qualified for, but because of their status, those working for them will shut up. It's a "Communist" country that practically behaves like a feudal society.
This. China's elites are terrified right now. Behind the naked force and censorship, econ growth is what is really makes them legit. If that stops, and COVID has done a great job stopping it, serious unrest will probably follow. I have no idea if the Communist party will survive this. I'm not making any predictions, but Chinese people have come to expect growth, and the Party knows its position is precarious. This virus has hurt China far more than the United States. If China went extinct tomorrow, we'd take a massive hit, but survive. If we went extinct, China would crumble like a house of cards.
The only country that is more totalitarian than China is the People's Republic of Denmark.

Even their role in the Korean War has been vastly whitewashed. Yeah, they surprised MacArthur, but they lost about half a million men doing it, to push the US back to the 38th parallel. Hardly a victory. Chinese culture and society really does suck in every way and always has since the dawn of time. They have an ant army. MacArthur knew how to deal with them. He was right, and despite his many flaws a true America hero for suggesting that we nuke the People's Republic.
