Does he have a successor named? Or do we get to watch a civil war among starving peasants?

In case he doesn't just got a nasty case of the gout, he has a sister. I suppose the people in charge will either pick her if they want to continue the dynasty or they could go for a senior party member or general.

You should check out Michael Malice's twitter feed and yt vids. He has pretty much read every book on NK there is and written one.

He has discussed how NK is patriarchial as fuck. It would be weird as hell for them to be ruled by a woman. Who knows what will happen, but even though the women in the Kim family have more clout than most citizens, traditionally they are not seen as being in charge.

Additionally, succession is a tricky issue in North Korea. All totalitarian societies view it was deep suspicion. If you voiced an opinion about who will succede Kim Jong Un or Il, or Kim il Sung, you would in all likelihood be executed or sent to a gulag (this has also happened in the past). Kim il sung gradually manouvred him son Kim Jong Il into being the successor, but it was a delicate issue that took years. Additionally, Kim Il Sung set in place a system for his second son Un, that involved having senior party members watching him until he matured. Kim Jong Un had other plans and purged them.

Its weird, but imo NK is in uncharted territory. I know very little about them, but from what I've read the Kim family and the senior party members know this shit is not sustainable. Il's plan as was Sung's was just to die before the regime collapsed. They were successful. Who knows what Un's goal is or was.

There is a really short book on North Korea by Andrei Lankov that is awesome. Check it out if you have the time dude. Well worth reading. It discusses their history, culture, debunks myths, and speculates their future. Even if the commies collapse, which will probably happen much sooner than we think, that population is fucked. They will be in a bad situation no matter what. They are so far behind the rest of the world, and so ill prepared, they are in for a multi generation recovery period.

Definitely enjoyed Malice on JRE. Not a whole lot of information on the government though, other than ‘follow orders or die’.

Malice's book is required reading for the north Korea issue, I highly recommend it.

I believe Kim Jong-un has a younger sissy brother who could serve as a figurehead while the other elite councilmembers run the regime, and I believe he still has an uncle or two who could serve aswell. Malice has been pretty repetitive on the patriarchal issues and family lineage.

Unsure why the sister is viewed as some diabolical power hungry harpy by our ever-reliable media, we probably know even less about her than we do about Jong-un.

That Malice dude I mention too much on here wrote a great mock autobiography on his father Kim Jong Il.

Its crazy because when Il died he basically put his close friend in the government Chang Song Thaek as the regent in power until young Un matured. Un had other plans, killing Thaek is a show trial. He also sent off a bunch of Il's close friends and love interested to Gulags. Kim Ok, a former North Korean diplomat was Il's latest squeez along with his 2 or 3 wives.

She got purged and is doing hard labor somewhere, mourning for the days far away from the icy gulag she is now in, to the fonder times when Kim Jong Il and her would discuss the way a sparrow flutters accross the sky in the autumn air. The sparrow often resembles the Chollima, a winged hourse, which was the name of Kim Il Sung's illfated campaign to modernize Korea and reach autonomy.

Both Ok and Il would have been naive romantists at that point, and as they drink plum wine in Kim's state run housing they often reminsced hopeless, romantically, on how foolish it was to entrust traitorous farmors with the power of growing grain for the Great Nation. Instead, thos farmers hoarded it to save their dying children.

Ok misses the way Kim Jong Il used to run his gouty fingers through he mangy uncombed hair and whisper "I rove you Mrs. Ok. Ret's reave! Tonight. Forget dis whole South Korea arms deals, forget axis of evil speech. Forget Jokn Borton. Wet's run away and go live in a Macau."

Kim Ok:"I rove you so much Il, but we must remain. We must! You promised your dad you'd built that Oberisk and grand arch in honor of his rifetime achievements."

Looking bact, in her Ryongdam Reeducation camp uniform and scarred emaciated flesh, Kim Ok, knew that despite his wack ass haircut and silly glasses, she should have taken that nerd's advice and travelled with him to macau, together, before he passed away. Oh how she misses him and petite korean dick.

Kim Ok's reverie was interrupted as a guard kicks her in the mouth causing her to lose two of her teeth. She hastily picks up her bucket and runs back down into the mine to collect magnesite.

I want more NK fanfiction from heydaralon, please.
