One Alastair Reynolds audiobook read by John Lee is better than all Star Trek ever by orders of magnitude

Once you go Reynolds it's hard to go back to Roddenberry

That being said, Michelle Yeoh made Discovery for me
I'm just saying. If you like Discovery, when it's at it's best, it's because they decided to be more like Deep Space Nine, and less like the rest of Star Trek.
Discovery I would describe as serviceable, I don't really like Star Trek, that one was watchable at worst

If you don't like Star Trek, Deep Space Nine is for you, it's least Star Trek like Star Trek series, that is big reason it's the best of the bunch, and it's not even close. At the very least you'll find it serviceable.

However there are many superior shows worth watching before watching DS9, but if you're going to watch a Star Trek series, and you've haven't seen DS9, it's a no brainer. And if you've seen them all, DS9 is also the best one to rewatch of the bunch, if you want to rewatch them.

DS9 doesn't put The Federation on a moralistic pedestal, it tears it right off the pedestal and pisses on it. Much of the commie shit you hate about Star Trek, so does DS9.

The production quality is entirely a product of technology. It's not DS9's fault, they did a great job production wise they were just limited to 20th century technology is all. That's a weird thing to get hung up on.

That's a weird hang up to have. If DS9 was made with modern technology, Discovery would have nothing on DS9 except Michelle Yeoh being in it. In every other facet, DS9 is vastly superior. If literally nothing matters but production value and Michelle Yeoh, then I can see why you'd have such weird taste in Star Trek.

That's a weird hang up to have and it's literally the only thing Discovery has on DS9. If DS9 was made with modern technology, it would below Discovery out of the water.

That's because you haven't watched DS9. The first season isn't that good, aside from a few episodes here and there, most Star Trek shows start off slow, Only the The Original Series and Discovery buck that trend. From S02E19 Blood Oath onwards, that's when it really starts to get good.

And I never will, it's been decades and I still have zero interest in DS9
