When you look at the list, it's made up of failed states and US enemies + Iraq. What is interesting is that Pakistan and Afghanistan aren't on the list. Of course, Afghans haven't usually been the terrorists and the Taleban has never started some terror actions outside Afghanistan (that I know of).

At least the list didn't have any muslim countries that really aren't any kind of problem and do have friendly ties to the US: Indonesia, Malesia, Morocco etc.

Anyway, likely if it would have been any other administration that would have put severe limitations on those countries that made it to the list, I think people wouldn't have even noticed. Yet likely any other administration wouldn't have made it such a big issue.

The entire "left-right" paradigm is a crock of shit. There are different political ideologies and value systems. There exists no one-dimensional continuum of politics at all. Fascism and what the left has become in America are equally fucked. It's not left-right anything. These are two deadly ideologies.

To say that there is this linear progression of rightism is to say a libertarian like Fife is a few gradient points away from a neocon like George W. Bush. Which is asinine.

There is Fascism on both the Right and the Left, so you can have Right Wing Fascism, such as the Falangists in Spain, but you can also have Left Wing Fascism, such as the Nazis in Germany. Right is towards a Crown, Left is towards the Masses, the Nazis were towards the masses, the Nazis were simply an extreme populist democratic mass movement, which is the opposite of the Right.
