Of course, but NATO provides a clear dividing line for what's "off-limits". Without that, as Dan put it, where's your dividing line? Both sides would just creep along until they hit it, with a new Cuban Missile Crisis every few years and then. Boom.

I could make a case for Soviet expansionism; it was part of their Marxist ideology. But Russia seems to me to be Nationalistic in its expansion, rather than intentional. NATO is against Communism. Turn it into a new organization that prevents the ideology behind Muslim expansion, or just hand it over to the E.U.

As for The Wall:
America needs to control its borders. Period. No waffling. About half the nation doesn't actually believe that, and few in the rest of the World do because socialist ideology discourages borders. So even though a physical wall is the poorest of the containment options, it seems to be the only one that can get traction. Socialists say "no" & Liberty folks say "yes," and something happens, or not, depending on which half controls the nation.

The wall is like a cultural shibboleth that divides the cucks from the nationalists. This is especially true for men, who are supposed to naturally seek to secure borders. If you can't even be bothered to defend what you have, then you failed at one of the fundamental jobs of being a man in this world.
