Don't know, we got the heck out of there without looking back, when the fire trucks went by on the way past us, we just played it cool and walked calmly away.

Yup, played with spray cans and lighters when I was a kid too. Then my friend Patrick burned down like an acre of wood/grassland - I wasn't with him thankfully, but it opened a heap of trouble for him. I figured it was better to just play with gunpowder and explode things instead after that.

AquaNet was the preferred flame thrower of the 80's in my neck of the woods.
My best friend's mom was a clown, professionally, and he swiped some of her flash-paper too (the kind magicians use for that quick burst of blinding fire).

He is trying to rationalize the fact that he casts guilt based on the man's identity rather than any actual crime. If it were some poor, female who drew down on some maniac threatening to set people on fire, his opinion would be different.
