If we could somehow limit this to Amazon, then fine. But you are not defending just letting Amazon treat people in this way. You are defending the labor practice. If that labor practice is deemed profitable, a corporation is going to adopt it.

Let's talk about IT workers since so many of you do that work.

I could feasibly design a tracking system similar to Amazon's system that tracks your every movement throughout the day. I can track where your eyes fall on a computer screen (really, that's already available for HCI research so I need only integrate it). I can track how much time you spend *not* doing your work tasks.

I can track how much time you wasted posting here. I can track how much time you wasted on smokebreaks or sitting on the toilet playing your your Viking game on your phone.

I can log your keystrokes and track how many lines of code you type.
