You would often say
" Do you want a Mcflurry wit that"
Never worked in a McDonalds. Although I did work as a Chef. As I , people would say “Yes Chef!” When I gave an order.

So please, keep on going... I’m sure you’ll find something worthwhile to make fun of soon enough.

Of course, all you got to do is look outside and realize the joke is on you.

Not everyone can reach their standards but well done for trying.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

God dammit.

The word chef actually means something. It's something most of us admire. You don't just become a line cook and call yourself a chef.

Your right. It does, I was in the field for 10 years before going into IT.

I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up to Chef. So I earned that title thank you very much.

I still have my whites and knives from then.

Are you fucking serious?

A professional cook. Someone who works in a restaurant in the loosest of terms.

And before you dig yourself into a deeper hole.

My kitchen did an average of 350 to 700 covers during rush depending if was a week day to a holiday.

So please, amuse me, get to your point.

So no then. You would have thought a chef would know what the word means.
350 to 700 covers? Man that's a lot of burgers.

It would be like you calling yourself a software engineer when you haven't even been to college, much less attempted to graduate with a computer science degree.

You have to go to school to become a chef. You don't just learn how to cook house meals for some restaurant somewhere and then become a chef. A chef can go ANYWHERE and consistently produce whatever is required in his chosen discipline.

Before enlisting, I worked in restaurants. I worked in a restaurant that ran on the brigade system. We had chefs for pretty much everything. Anytime I was assigned to do something in the kitchen, I wasn't <x> chef. I was something more like <x> cook. Most of the time I just shucked oysters like an asshole.

The head chef would explain shit to us all the time. There is WAY WAY WAY fucking more to this than just cooking food according to a recipe you have written down somewhere. These dudes understand how your taste senses work and even the chemical processes involved in cooking and baking.

The difference between a cook and a chef is sort of like the difference between an IT programmer and a software engineer.
