I am not sure that the Francoists were all that racial, honestly. Spaniards are kind of their own thing in that respect. Kind of a mixed race themselves. Maybe I am wrong and it's like that scene in True Romance where Sicilians had to come to grips with their Moorish ancestry. Not sure.

I really weak on the Spanish Civil-War, I know a few tidbits.

Spain really boned Hitler when they didn't come into WWII on the side of Germany and Italy.

I know that some Americans went to Spain and fought Francos Forces under the name of the American Legion I believe.

Its kind of funny that ol Franco was telling his Berber troops/body guard that they'd get to kill Jews and Atheist in Iberia so come on and join in the fun.
