Good Stuff.
Civil Unrest need not be a giant surprise. If you are seriously concerned about it in your area, you should be collecting intelligence in your community and start to develop profiles of potential allies, enemies and unknowns in your community. You can get a google maps image of your neighborhood or community and mark houses with colored pins.
Red = Known Opponents (Trumpists for you

)
Blie = Dependable Ally
Green = Friendly
Yellow = Unknown or Neutral
You should be tracking local crime databases, the types of crimes, when they occur. Look for threat groups that may become mobile and become your problem.

You should also be collecting information daily in your community. Do this by talking to people. People want to tell you what they think, just like in this forum. Give them a chance and they will tell you. Now you don't come out and say, Did you vote for Trump or Hillary. You say, have you seen ................
- the price of gas
- I was thinking of visiting Europe but I'm concerned about safety
Fairly neutral statements, with an opening for them to jump and tell you. You can collect intel almost anywhere, gas station, grocery store, post office, walking the neighborhood.
Go home, write down what you've learned, you will over time develop a feel for the emotions simmering under the surface of your community.
You should also decide how you and your family will react to civil unrest. Stay put or bug out. If so, when, what are the triggers that initiate action. For example............
- power goes down for more than 15 min. You do basic home security and have a response if someone breaks in
- riot downtown at night. We will start packing through the night, then at first light, as long as the riots have quietted we will load out and leave.
