The right favours individual liberties, "civil liberties" having been hijacked by the left to impose collectivist affirmative action by state intervention, "civil liberties" is just code for SJW shit now.

The right wants lower taxes because those taxes end up funding leftist entrenched interests, the guns are for in case they have to use them when those leftist entrenched interests come to steal more, see; the Bundy's.

Warrantless searches, draconian jail sentences for low quantities of drugs, parallel construction, you name it, now has support from most dems and reps.

I'm not a fan of affirmative action or any of that horseshit, I'm just annoyed that when it comes to anything outside of abortion, taxes, or guns, we have a concensus from the right and left for the government to rape us however they see fit. The second amendment is important, but so are the other ones. Don't talk to me about small government if you are for the war on drugs. Just be honest and say you don't like paying taxes, but you love a huge invasive government. Let's not mince words about this.

It's all relative, the conservatives are simply the lesser of two evils, but less is more, when it comes to evils.

The perfect is the enemy of the good, don't tell me you are against huge invasive government, and then say the Dems and the Reps are the same, cause they're not, the Dems are exponentially worse on that.

Less of that or more of that, pick one. Let's not mince words.

In my opinion, the insurmountable problems this country faces seem to have equal complicity between the two parties. I already mentioned the war on drugs or the disappearing fourth amendment be it from terrorism or overdoeses. During the Clinton Administration, the inflation of bubbles either dotcom or housing seemed to have been passed by a Republican Congress and a Democratic President. They will argue till the cows come home about abortion, but get back to me when a party has a serious solution to anything else. I fall more on the right in these culture war battles, but both parties and the electorate that vote for them should have a lion's share of the blame when it comes to this other stuff. On some level, I know this is never gonna get fixed so whatever. I guess I shouldn't worry too much.

Whoopie fuckin' do, not interested in your soap box, pretty simple fallacy you are peddling tho; you cherry pick the handful of policies which have bipartisan support, to say that they're all the same, but as you go down the list, the Dems continue to propagate big government nanny state solutions to everything, the Reps do not, it's not all about drugs, for most voters, drugs are not a priority.

And moreover, just saying legalize everything is no panacea, there's a downside to just handing out government drugs to everybody, and who in the electorate is really voting for that? There's bipartisan opposition to that, so again, it's a wash.

You don't think the '08 recession was a big deal? Which party had clean hands after that one? Interestingly, it seems like the government grows nonstop whether you have a rep or a dem in office. Bush certainly grew the government, and Obama did too. Its very telling that when people talk about Trump's accomplishments, they mention he saved us 8 billion dollars from slashing regulation, when we are spending trillions. He might have, but that seems more like an accounting trick than anything else. Who knows.

Again, it's all relative, lesser of two evils, if I had to pick between one or the other, then I would pick the lesser of two evils. I never said that there is a panacea party, and it is the electorate in the end, the entrenched interests, which pushes the parties to do what they do, so realistically, you gotta work with the cards you are dealt, and pick the lesser of two evils, because democracy is an evil unto itself.

As to the 08' financial crisis? That was all Clinton, so why would I blame the GOP? I remember Clinton leading the effort to repeal Glass Stegall, in real time, as he was doing it, why would I blame Bush for having the mess dumped on him?

Because the Financial Services modernization act and Commodities Future Modernization act were enthusiastically passed by a Republican Congress is why lol. Senator Graham was all on board. Don't get me wrong, Clinton was all about it too. That's my point though, both parties look equally shitty after that one.

The bottom line is this, the first two amendments in the constitution are the most important, the Democrats are opposed to both, that, plus the impulse to constantly raise taxes to centralize the money in the hands of the public sector, is enough to warrant chucking them out of the helicopters in of itself.

If you're prepared to do so, I'm quite sure conservatives can come up with a list of Republicans who can go with them, no doubt, Lindsay Graham would be on that list, don't worry.
