It's a Kirpan.

Looks more like a Janbiya to me.

Kirpan, Janbiya; six of one half dozen of another, Mooslambs say "Janbiya", Sikh's say "Kirpan", although, Janbiya tend to have a broader crescent shaped blade, I would call it a "straight" Kirpan, but could be a Janbiya too, depends on who is rocking it, in India, it's a "Kirpan" if you're a Sikh, "Janbiya" if you're a Mooslamb.

Yeah, either way, it's a blade, although the quality is questionable...

If Kath is rocking it, it's a Kirpan by default, women don't carry Janbiya's, only males over the age of 14, whereas Sikh women are warriors too, so a "Kirpan" as soon as it's being rocked by a chick.

Those big hooked shaped knives the men wear in their belts in Arabia, most commonly in Yemen, that's your traditional janbiya, they look like this;

:lol: Thank you! Interesting.

There's no markings at all , so can't speak to anything about quality.

What's the pinhead thing on the sheath for?

In case you poke yourself with it, wearing it in your belt. That's why they are often hook shaped, so you don't jab yourself with the hilt every time you sit down.

There's no "real" or "fake", you could go to Sanaa in Yemen and buy a Jambiya in the market straight from the horses mouth, and they're all Made in China.
