I was hit on half a dozen times, 2 or 3 I seriously had to extricate myself from. Dan's fanbase is 100x what mine was.

p.s. Of course, I was better looking, had more money, drove fancy cars, and more flamboyant than Dan.

Of course. Women are attracted to not only fame, status and wealth but to characters. Which is part of the reason they are attracted to fame.

A moderately attractive guy with a good nature who is an insurance adjuster < under sea wielder who has a crazy scar from the time he got bitten by a shark of the coast of Madagascar.

"History podcaster" is a little lame in itself, but Dan travels the country, has fans, meets other famous people, etc.

For the most part, women's job is to be women. (Men would take the attractive, good natured girl... if she has a steady job, that's fantastic.)

In many senses, they are like blank canvases who can choose their painters. It's our job to make them laugh, get them off, make them feel safe and loved, etc. etc. Part of that is to provide excitement and narratives. Just being famous does half the job. Then add, "hey I just flew into town to do a TV appearance, why don't we meet up afterwords... I hope nobody recognizes me at the restaurant." You're in. They want to be the girl in that story.
