Just to waltz in like Texas when a progressive Democrat gets elected President?

Now Cali would be an awesome country, have to say. Would punch way above it's weight in the 40 million series.

LOL, no.

All the industries would flee within ten years. It would just be a second Mexico within fifty years.
Most of us would love to see them go too.

California would do fine as a Welfare State. High end folks would move away, but otherwise, no problem. Someplace else would take over, probably on the Gulf Coast.

p.s. It would make a great Welfare destination for the remaining States.

Absolutely.

And just think how conservative the US would look without Cali, without Tinseltown and San Francisco.

As we talked about secession in Spain earlier and the Kurds were also mentioned, note this:
People are voting in a landmark referendum on independence for the Kurdistan Region of Iraq that the international community has criticised.

Polls are open in the three northern provinces that make up the region, as well as disputed areas claimed by the Kurds and the government in Baghdad.

Iraq's prime minister has denounced the referendum as "unconstitutional".

Kurdish leaders say an expected "yes" vote will give them a mandate to start negotiations on secession.
I guess they have finally had it with the idiots in Baghdad.

Of course, the "International Community" is against anything that would change the status quo.

Read the "International Community" as the US government.

WTF

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/ ... ldren.html
First-cousin marriages, which are are legal in the UK, are practised within Britain’s Pakistani community, as well as among some Arab and African families. Medical data previously suggested that while British Pakistanis were responsible for 3 per cent of all births, they accounted for 30 per cent of British children born with a genetic illness.
