Whatever, Captain Kool-Aid, I'm not going to bother to try to convince a zealot that there is no God...
...but for those who don't drink the American Kool-Aid; after the American NVA forced the British to fly off the roof of the embassy in Yorktown back to their aircraft carriers in the Chesapeake, the Jacobins of America were just as if not more brutal than the North Vietnamese in terms of exacting retribution upon Americans who had fought for American Saigon, which is how they ended up here, in the confederacy which one the war and lived to tell the tale, didn't just ethnically cleanse the Indians off the land, drove the loyalists off the their land as well.
The North Vietnamese called it "Land Reform", but American Kool-Aid just calls it kumbaya.

Yeah, yeah............................ standard smitty bullshit bravado.
You're reading about Vietnam now so everything is to be put through the lens of Vietnam. Back when you read about the Civil War everything was about the Civil War. You study up on a topic and then wade around the forum attempting to dazzle neophytes with your brilliance.
What a fucking putz.
Your line of bullshit is tiresome and boorish Topper.

Oh, and the paralells between the NVA and the American NVA just keep on coming, because what did the NVA do after they "liberated" the colonies? Yep, that's right, they went off and invaded Cambodia, which is exactly what the American NVA did in 1812...

Like I said, whatever, I don't personally find you to be even as bright as the average neophyte round here, you're dumber than a post quite frankly, so the barbs of historical butt hurt from the likes of you, I of course wear as a badge of honour.C-Mag wrote:Yeah, yeah............................ standard smitty bullshit bravado.

As to the Civil War and Vietnam, that's pretty much the book ends of America as we know it, you can pretty much explain 90% of America, based on the Civil War and Vietnam, just the way it is, I didn't make America, I just observe and report.

I'd say that's you projecting, if you weren't needing to cling to your Kool-Aid and insecure about the alternative narratives, you wouldn't be the butt hurt whiner that you're being right now, but whatever, butt hurt as you wanna be, don't mind me, I'm just shooting the breeze.C-Mag wrote:So, needy, so insecure.

It's extremely interesting just how long actually the longbow was used in warfare in the British Isles. I guess the last times were in the 18th Century by some underarmed Scotts. I have a book about it, but it's in the countryside home and I don't exactly remember. But it's true about the use of longbow being a culture. One may add that swordsmanship, fencing and using staff weapons is also a culture that has basically died away and only some eager fans still uphold the culture.C-Mag wrote:To have an effective Longbow force you needed an entire bow culture. Probably the same with the mongols and their hefty Horn Bows.
WIth Gun Powder anyone can penetrate defenses, be they personal of fixed fortifications.
When you look at the Scottish Jacobite Army fighting in Culloden, I guess they had some longbows too as Scotland did have a Royal Company of Archers (since 1676) that participated in Culloden.

Do note the longbows!

The bayonet attached to the musket was the thing that ended the need for pikemen to protect the musketeers. But it's only in the late 19th Century when you have modern rifles that cold weapons (meaning all kind of weapons that don't use explosives, pikes, swords, longbows) really start to become extinct. Last bastion I presume is the Cavalryman's lancer and sword.

It came from the Celts. The English learned it from the Welsh. It wouldn't surprise me if the Scots had a tradition as well.

We didn't put them in re-education camps though like the Vietnamese did. Just tarred and feathered a few dandies and confiscated some farms. Many freshmen suffer worse when they rush a fraternity. I don't really understand how you can compare America to Vietnam though. Have you seen a white American and and a Vietnamese man side by side? They look nothing alike! Most of the time, they don't even speak the same language!Smitty-48 wrote:Whatever, Captain Kool-Aid, I'm not going to bother to try to convince a zealot that there is no God...

Guns are cooler
No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session
