Sad trebuchet news

After 15 years of hurling projectiles twice a day the trebuchet in my signature was deemed unsafe to use in 2020.
It was advertised for sale, needing repairs, for £100k but sadly there were no offers so it has been cut up and used to make benches in the grounds of Warwick castle where it served.

RIP old friend.

Now for the good news.
At a cost of £500k they have built a new one the same size.

That’s pretty cool. It’s more like kinetic art.

Costs more than a nice house…. But it’s still damn cool.

I'm disappointed they didn't take my advice and attach streamers to the projectile so you can see it better in flight.
Since burning down the boat house they haven't flung fire and you just can't see it in any of the videos.
