Good, affordable escape.
$30 grand? You have a very different definition of affordable to me.
Especially for an ugly ass shed half the size of my truck.

Then go live in your run-down van, faggot. A cabin you can put together like Ikea furniture is cool as shit where I come from.

And if by affordable you mean the price of a tool shed, then fuck off and create a thread about living in a Loew's discount tool shed.

For instance, if you had some property like casa de la fife remote, it might not be such a bad idea to put something like this out there. You could put a propane range on the deck, a grill, and then build a decent outhouse. You can build an overhang over that kitchen area too, and create a sink with water that runs off a tank you can fill on your own.

That would be a pretty nice set-up for 30k. No need to pay for hookups or any of that shit. Install some solar panels on the roof to power everything. Boom. Affordable fishing retreat.

Hey lads, there must be some happy medium between an Ikea He-Shed and the Free Candy Van.

I got divorced before I ever got to build one, though. Turned out OK after all was said and done. :goteam: :drunk:

A cabin you can build yourself for a fraction of the cost out of much more sustainable materials is what I'd call cool.
That's a zinc-plated soulless eyesore for people with too much money and too few carpentry skills.

It's not going to cost you a fraction of the cost. I bet their margins are tight as fuck at that price.

And if you are going to build a traditional cabin, your costs are going to a lot higher than just the cost of the materials. Ikea cabin just sets up right there. The only thing you need to build yourself is the deck.

Whatever.
I've built my home for less than £5k not counting the cost of the truck (another 5k) and it's twice the size, far better equipped, better looking and uses much nicer materials. That thing has no kitchen, no toilet, no seating, no imagination and no soul. It's a glorified shag pad. Basically just a bedroom.
Frankly, it's letting a good thread down and is an over-priced embarrassment.
