I don't even object to people hunting wild animals for meat so long as they are not endangered.
I just don't think there's anything manly about shooting an animal from a nice safe distance and having a dead beast on you profile pic is just bragging.

Not me, I'm a misanthrope, but I got a soft spot for animals, not like JohnDonne, I'm not going to cry for a lobster, but dance on the grave of a bison, as a talisman of my manhood? Nah, I'll dance on a man's grave if he's earned it, but there's no way for a wild animal to earn that.

Thing about hunting, there's a discipline to it, you gotta be patient, you gotta sit there all fuckin' day and you gotta keep the prey from getting spooked, but the actual shooting of the animal with a scoped rifle? Can't say I found that to be particularly challenging, just shooting a deer standing/sitting unsupported .308 rifle with scope? Ain't no thang, nothing to crow about really.

Seal hunt is not a trophy hunt, them seals multiply like rabbits, ya gotta cull that population to keep the delicate ecosystem in balance, plus they're tasty, and you can make them into clothes.
