You're a lot of help...

Core content on Hwen's nicker twist? Anyone?

Ok if you don't have time to read it, Seems to be an argument about showing your work at the moment. Smitty has tried to insist that gentlemen don't need to post lots of links to prove a point Hwen doesn't seem to like being told what he can't do. Smitty's mess Smitty's rules in my opinion, and I agree with him anyway.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

2. What evidence do you have that investigative journalism is dead in Russia? They are an open society just like the US. You got proof that Russian politicians communicate differently?
That is simply common knowledge for anyone who's been following European news for the last two decades, but if you want a reknowned watchdog on matters of press freedom to weigh in on the matter:

(for comparisons sake: https://rsf.org/en/ranking )

Aside from that... you should try and pay attention to the post history of your fellow other users. You might learn why some of us trust guys like ssu and Smitty on matters military and geopolitics.

Scrolled back through a bunch of posturing...

I'm guessing Hwen is disputing the view of Russia as a threatened weak power that wants to stay a strong power...

With the danger that a weak threatened power with lots of nukes poses?

Smitty's view is that Russia is essentially doomed to collapse.... and how it chooses to collapse - with a bang or whimper is the only question at hand.

Russia wants to stay strong but the hysteria around it is stupid.

Hysteria about a threatened enemy heading towards collapse with the capacity to light up the globe like a disco ball?

Point to a statement you felt was hysterical...

Haven't seen it.

Hysteria about it's mere existence and alliances in it's own sphere of influence.

"Hysteria about its mere existence"?

I can assure you, with a very stoic and calm demeanor, that Russia in fact exists.
