I should have rephrased and said attempting to ban, or writing laws that make it nearly impossible.

The opposition has been silent because any vocal opposition is being doxxed, cancelled, and fired from their jobs. It happens because the heads of the companies and all of the media supports the Marxist movement. At some point I have to believe people will have enough and push back, but we are not to that point yet. Normies are waiting for someone to lead them, like Trump, but he's done nothing so far but talk.
Doxxing those who have remained silent might be the final straw for the ordinary people. They want everyone to pick a side, well they will not like the results when they force everyone to make that choice.
I do not think most heads of companies support it, but they are too fearful of losing a few pennies they will bow down to any pressure from the media. They know they will lose more money from left wing outrage because the left is generally more politically active.
