That happened in the 80s. The Mexican people are ruled by drug cartels.
Oh I agree. And those drug cartels are telling Mexican leaders to fight this wall. The Trumpian Wall is not my first choice, but it may force Mexico to resolve their own internal issues, it may be bloody
The problem with that idea is that the Drug Cartels, for years now - btw, have been digging tunnels to avoid the wall and even the border police. You also have coyotes also know as coyotajes (the inhuman monsters that would smuggle people in the most horrible conditions) out there as well and they are also connected to the drug cartels as well. The problem is a wall is not going to stop this nor solve this, but instead just exacerbate the problem more.
Nonsense. A tunnel is not impossible to detect either. Neither is it terribly difficult to detect the construction of a tunnel.

As far as what happens on the other side of the wall.. that's not our problem.

Why don't you and why doesn't Kath? Why do I have to do all the work for you guys? It's your country, not mine.

There's no defense in depth, and the wall restricts American freedom of action to manuever against the threat.
OMG, YOU'RE RIGHT!

No, wait. It's 2017 and we have discovered electricity. We have these things, that aren't even alive, but they KNOW when something is moving, and they can talk with their magic machine language to these other things that can SEE! And then there's these other things that are like canvas, and the machines can create images on them and change them instantly to reflect what the seeing machine sees.

What an age we live in. I almost forgot we weren't living in the middle ages when you needed to put a person on a wall to see what was on the other side.

Fair enough.

Okay... I agree with you. 100%.

Explain WHY it can't pass.

Hint: If you answer is anything other than "because nobody truly wants to fix this problem," then you're talking out your ass.

Now, that we all agree an effective way won't pass specifically because nobody wants to fix this problem, than FFS, don't waste billions of dollars doing something half assed. This is not how we MAGA.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded. Stupid Americans spending billions upon billions on something super ugly that provides very little ROI. We either want to solve this or we don't. The Donald either wants to solve this or he doesn't. He's got a giant bully twitter account and he can explain to the peeps how we can actually make this work, but he doesn't, because reasons? You don't think his army of voters will march on the mall to get their congress creatures to do the people's work instead of their owner's work?

Am, I'm the idiot. Yeah.... buncha scared blowhards willing to throw good money down the drain because at least it FEELZ like we're doing something.
Its so easy to solve.

Go after the people who hire illegals and brutally punish them.
If we'd punish the John's, there'd be no more prostitutes;
If we'd punish the drug users, there'd be no more drug problems;
If we'd punish the military, there'd be no more war;
And if we'd just get rid of the laws, there'd be no more criminals!
Cute, but you have it backwards

A true analogy would be punishing the illegal immigrants for illegally immigrating

Or, you know, we could heavily fine a company found to be hiring illegals. Get enough fines, problem goes away. Once business knows your serious, they take you seriously. That's how it works. I imagine we could hire at least 100 people (probably a lot more) with $20 billion, you know, to administrate this thing from an audit perspective.

Anyway, spend more, get less. It's the republican way. Fiscal conservative my ass. This is the party of spend, spend, spend.....

Hey, we spent a ton of money but at least it's inefficient. Woot!
Who said Trump is a fiscal conservative? Not me.

His sales pitch is better than yours, that's why his plan is being pushed and not yours. Work on the sales pitch and then push your plan or quit complaining that people fell for the better sales pitch and didn't like what you had to sell. It's not my fault your sales pitch sucks ass and you thought simply having the better product was enough, it isn't.
And I would say that Bush wasn't a true fiscal conservative either since the deficit and the trade deficit of the US went through the roof under him.

Not just fine, give the business a virtual death penalty. Consfiicate all of its assets, confiscate the assets of the people who did the hiring, confiscate the assets of the executives that run the company, etc
