didn't turn out to be the case in Vietnam, it was the American will to burn the villages which brokeDBTrek wrote: Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:12 am I'm not sure burning a village doesn't make you a tough guy.
If you take the contrarian position, it's difficult to think of any villages burned by women or weak men.
...at the very least they're tougher than the villagers, eh?
the weak Viet Cong simply planting booby traps ftw

American soldiers were definitely tougher than the villages they burned.Smitty-48 wrote: Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:19 amdidn't turn out to be the case in Vietnam, it was the American will to burn the villages which brokeDBTrek wrote: Wed Sep 22, 2021 8:12 am I'm not sure burning a village doesn't make you a tough guy.

Assassins, poisoners, and ambushers generally aren't considered tough.
Toughness is generally rated by ones ability to go toe-to-toe with the adversary.

Will police and service members only show bravery for the power of the state ?
Are they only willing to put life and limb on the line for the State ?
Will people not risk it all for their own Liberty ?
