You can't even give him credit for this? Anti-Trump bias over 9000.
It is right Nappa, it is.

Was referring to... "Why does he need a circle to watch him sign?"
All presidents do that.... it's either okay or not okay. That doesn't change because the laundry changed.

Oh well enjoy that enlightening discussion then.....
Eh, this one's easy, you just need to turn your thinking around: instead of saying "Trump just saved Keystone Pipeline", I can just as easily said "Trump just killed a bunch of oil rail and barge jobs!" From two years ago...
As the year rolled to a close, Russ Girling, chief executive officer of TransCanada Corp., repeated on television what he has often said: he’s “very confident” that President Barack Obama will approve the Keystone XL pipeline.
The problem is that people have been saying that for years. As a result, the oil industry on both sides of the border has begun to aggressively deploy alternatives to the pipeline, including shipping by rail and barge, to get that oil to U.S. Gulf Coast refineries.
Of course, you can counter that those methods, beside being more inefficient, are also more environmentally unsafe... but that's something us Leftys care about, not the white knights for the Captains of Industry. Point is, Trump just won some temporary construction contracts at the cost of railroad and barge work. Good deal if you want oil to be even cheaper, not so good if you were working on these trains and boats...
"Old World Blues.' It refers to those so obsessed with the past they can't see the present, much less the future, for what it is. They stare into the what-was...as the realities of their world continue on around them." -Fallout New Vegas
Can't speak for the US, but the rail companies here didn't hire, what they did was cut the numbers of workers on the trains and put rickety old cars on the rails to take up the extra capacity, then one of those workers fell asleep and the rickety old train full of oil derailed and blew up right in the middle of a town in New Brunswick, totally destroying it and killing the people therein while they slept in their homes, so once again, good job, Trump, get that oil off the rails, that's the most dangerous way to ship it by far.
I seriously doubt the rail companies in the US are doing it any differently, as since the oil boom combined with the pipeline blocking has been forcing so much of this oil on to the rails, derailments are up 73% continent wide, it's not just in Canada, it's on both sides of the border, because the same trains run back and forth across the border seamessly, the regulations on both sides are pretty much the same, and just on sheer volume there are more train derailments in the US.
Pipeline blockaders; a quasi-religious cult who oppose all oil production whatsoever, entirely irrational and faith based, the Democrats caved in to these mindless zealots, fuck the Democrats, bring on the Deal Maker.
If the Maker of Deals is going to extract more revenue from TransCanada on behalf of the American taxpayer in the deal; fine by me, quid pro quo.
President Donald Trump is expected to sign executive orders starting on Wednesday that include a temporary ban on most refugees and a suspension of visas for citizens of Syria and six other Middle Eastern and African countries, according to several congressional aides and immigration experts . . . .
Trump is expected to order a multi-month ban on allowing refugees into the United States except for religious minorities escaping persecution, until more aggressive vetting is in place.
Another order will block visas being issued to anyone from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen . . . .
. . . Trump is also considering measures to tighten border security and could turn his attention to the refugee issue later this week.
The border security measures could include directing the construction of a border wall with Mexico and other actions to reduce the number of illegal immigrants living inside the United States.
Sounds like the guy is moving right through his agenda. Probably be all done by mid-February.
More seriously, who among us had the nuts to go long on TransCanada before 11/9? :goteam:
It won't go to our markets. We get nothing out of the pipeline. If I were Trump, I'd end the pipeline somewhere in the American Midwest.
I agree, that the oil from this pipeline will never go to American markets nor will it benefit America in anyways. In my opinion, the pipeline is a lose, lose for all of America and we shouldn't allow it and stop/destroy the already existing ones as well. America first, you know...
