Did someone say ‘God’?
Let me kick this shit down.
Well if you just want to be a dirt poor subsistence farmer you could always move to road free Somalia with Fife.DBTrek wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 1:20 pm
Indeed.
If there were no cities, who would eat food?
Very thought provoking.
So ... one CAN survive without the other. Glad reason was able to prevail in this case. Jolly good. Pip pip. All that.Montegriffo wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 1:33 pm Well if you just want to be a dirt poor subsistence farmer you could always move to road free Somalia with Fife.
I am thinking for myself, I've come to the conclusion that god is a man-made entity to allow people to sin without feeling as if they did. For if "god" told them it was OK... or that "god" did 'X' it's the same as if people saying "The Devil" made them do it...DBTrek wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 1:28 pm Dude ... why get mad at people who believe in God if you don’t?
The real answer is ... because Satan compels your atheist ass to be infuriated.

Stop doing the devil’s bidding. Think for yourself.
Or perhaps if you follow the theory governing the universe about its elasticity you'd understand that there was truly never nothing... your lack of understanding or lack of willingness to understand makes religion and the sins people do in its name possible.DBTrek wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 1:56 pm Good call.
Let me give it a try.
Hmmmmmm ... maybe the universe just happened. Like, one moment there was nothing. Literally nothing. Not empty space because there is no space. Not eternity because there is no time. Just. Flat. Nothing.
And then ... like all of a sudden... BANG! Everything exists.
Yes, that’s it man.
That’s what happened, only a fool would think otherwise. We went from nothing to everything via a phenomenal explosion that was triggered by nothing and had nowhere to exist. By Jove, I have these religious rubes by their gimbals now, eh guv’nuh!

.... or maybe humans are really too dumb to be ruling anything out, or mocking any ideas when it comes to existence.

It's called "the Big Bounce". and it's a theory, instead of living off of fantasy without any proof to back up religion.DBTrek wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 2:09 pm No, that’s not what modern science says at all.
Maybe you meant a single ultra-hot, ultra-dense singularity, for which we have no evidence - but the “Accordian” theory of persistently collapsing existence is something you just made up.
And compared to religious texts, it’s a stinker of an idea.
