I saw Jumanji: Into the Jungle and it was actually fun. Not a bad movie but not even close to Oscar material. Just a decent fun flick. Bright was also fun to watch as well.

Watched Jackie on Netflix, definitely not for the superhero fan set, but quite enjoyable actually, not perfect by any means, but a nice piece of historical drama, beautifully shot, aesthetic off the charts, masterpiece performance by Natalie Portman, who, still damn easy on the eyes that women, super cute and super hot, all in one.

We may not have outright royalty in the states, but this whole kennedy worship is basically the same impulse. I watched part of that movie and was bored pretty quick. What did she do again? Nada. I'm pretty and marry rich people. Look how sad and dignified I am at this funeral! Its like all that princess Diana worship. She shook some guy with AIDS hand! She went to bosnia and gave a one legged orphan an action figure! She never farted or had a bowel movement! Fucking pathetic ass shit is what it is. Have they made a movie about Chappaquiddick yet? That would be hilarious.Smitty-48 wrote:Watched Jackie on Netflix, definitely not for the superhero fan set, but quite enjoyable actually, not perfect by any means, but a nice piece of historical drama, beautifully shot, aesthetic off the charts, masterpiece performance by Natalie Portman, who, still damn easy on the eyes that women, super cute and super hot, all in one.
Superhero movies suck too though, worse than that Jackie movie.

A good date movie is Irreversible. Its better if you don't look anything up about it going in though. Lighthearted romantic comedy with many twists and turns...

I didn't make Jaqueline Bouvier into an historical figure, I don't worship the Kennedy family, but I like early sixties aesthetic, I like the era, I like that movies re-creation of the era, I like historical drama, and I like Natalie Portman, no need to throw a hissy about it.heydaralon wrote:We may not have outright royalty in the states, but this whole kennedy worship is basically the same impulse. There's a well done re-creation of the JFK funeral in it as well, which, whether you like the Kennedy's or not, still one of the most magnificent events in American history, the director really puts you there, also a very gritty assassination scene, puts you right in the car as Kennedy's grape gets popped, very realistic, Zapruder film on steroids close up.
Also John Hurt as the Irish priest, he's good in everything. Natalie Portman, John Hurt, they got some great scenes together.
The only thing that was unrealistic, is that Natalie Portman is so much better looking than Jackie O.

Yeah irl Jackie's head is shaped a bit like Beavis'. I wish they had shown the actual headshot and not that immediately after. The only movie where they show the headshot was that stupid watchmen movie.Smitty-48 wrote:There's a well done re-creation of the JFK funeral in it as well, which, whether you like the Kennedy's or not, still one of the most magnificent events in American history, the director really puts you there, also a very gritty assassination scene, puts you right in the car as Kennedy's grape gets popped, very realistic, Zapruder film on steroids close up.

Actually I think they did show it. I just didn't watch far enough.
