Maybe in my 20's I was too old? I read a shitload of classic SF as a tween/teen though. I liked the hard stuff, not the fantasy.

How about series we'd like to see? I've thought John Varley's Titan trilogy would make a great series now that the technology exists to do justice to the creatures and habitats. Plus hot female leads. Or his 8 Worlds series. Tons of cool ideas there.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Yeah, I was like eleven or twelve, I couldn't get through all that faireys and sorcery shit now.

I actually don't like that genre, LOTR is the only thing I like faireys and sorcery wise.

Mostly I'm like Denis Leary, "Football and Porno and Books About War"

Sci fi is an exception, but is has to be good sci fi, I don't read a lot of it, I just have certain favorites.

In terms of comic books, I grew up in the 70's when Marvel Comics was the new news, comics like we'd never seen before.

So not only do I have nostalgia for it, but it is impressive the amount of effort that Disney has put into the franchise, they spare no expense.

Yeah I have no nostalgia for comic books, and without the nostalgia factor, most comic book movies are garbage, so I usually just avoid that shit like the plague. Even the best comic book movies I've seen aren't even that good, so I don't really see the point in beating my head against that wall.

Full disclosure, I am a Disney shareholder, but its not Walt's Disney anymore, altho I still loves me some old school Disney, I have nostalgia for that too. Moreover, it's up from $17 dollars at the beginning of this cycle, to $112 dollars now.

With a Logan, where they do something totally original, or an Antman where they keep it light and fun, I am on board.

Where they go BLM Black Panther; I didn't make it through the first twenty minutes of that piece of shit

Comic book movies are cut above horror films, slightly lower percentage of garbage films, but still mostly misses. There are a few exceptions here or there, like with horror flicks, but in general, hard pass.

See, Dorothy Gale just called me to supper; traditional Sunday dinner, roast with all the feexins

Littel House on the Prairie for the win.

I watch some of them to see what all the hoopla is about. Never in the theater, except when the family dragged me to see Dr Strange. What a nonsense piece of shit that was. I resent comics for sucking up all the money that might have gone to real SF movies & TV. Take away comics, Trek, Star Wars, and time travel(fantasy), and there's very, very little SF being made.
