Those of you who are concerned about bias in the media may want to check out The Knife.

Checked it out. Seems like all they do is just cut out the adjectives from other media's story. You can't ultimately cut out bias from a news story, because the very choice of making something a story is governed by your biases. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you're aware of your own bias, and that you're not pretending to do journalism when you're really doing some quid pro quo job for someone in power.

In the case of the latter, especially, it wouldn't matter if you cut out all the adjectives and speculation. Just serves to cover up that the choice of reporting the story itself was suspect.

Also, do you really want news without bias? How do you neutrally, detached, and totally objectively report on something like a genocide, for example? Answer is, unless you're a sociopath, you don't. But what you can do is try to be as independent as possible.

I think if you want better journalism, you should seek out media outlets you sympathize with, then research wether they have their own investigative journalists and local desks across the country. If they do, buy their subscription and support them. If they don't, get some likeminded folks together and start an online money collection, then reach out to your non-investigative media outlet and tell them you and others would like to sponsor them so they learn how to, and have ressources to, cultivate their own sources. Instead of simply being a commentator on someone else's news.
