I'd think pretty much everyone would think with a large enough technological gap any civilization could conquer Japan. What made Japan unique is the willingness to adapt to adopt certain western technological developments and integrate them into their society and military specifically. People sleep on how advanced Japan was prior to the arrival of the West, but they actually weren't all that far from industrialization despite their relative isolation from the rest of the world, and even if the west had never arrived Japan probably would have industrialized on their own at much slower rate.

Confucius is Chinese though? I'm sure that's part of the reason a whole extra dozen old people got themselves locked up in 2015 though. At that age, fuck it.
