Agree. I'm not a fan of them. They just seem pretty basic. Sandals are probably what our ancestors have worn for thousands of years and converse is basically the same thing.

I see people post that don't recommend carrying handles. While I agree they are useless they do look cool. Any other reason to avoid them?

The new combat boots are lightyears beyond the jungle boots I used to run in in military school. Down right spoiled the modern army is. The new boots are actually comfortable.

We used to attempt to plug the side vents up with shoe polish to keep the water out. If you so much as step in a puddle your socks got wet. No idea why this was designed into boots made for Vietnam jungle warfare

You might find it difficult to aim that gun without the "carrying handle".

Like anything, you get used to it.

Lots of ankle support. Rolled my ankle a million times in those and never got hurt.

I have a pair of these. They don't really work for me. I have a couple of deformed toes that go off in the wrong direction. These are shoes for perfect toes.

What kinda boots yalls wear?

In the Winter and around the corrals I wear Muck Boots, pretty Awesome. Waterproof and warm as hell. Even great for Ice fishing.


My standard boots for hiking and general work are Rocky S2V


If I'm riding a horse, which isn't often any more I either wear some old cowboy boots or a packer style boot
