If you are getting stuck on the thumb, that means you aren't releasing it properly... you are gripping it late, and holding onto it with your thumb... you are supposed to have a loose thumb and use your fingers to adjust where the ball goes. (Sorry, used to teach kids, this was common)

What board are you releasing on?
It was a major issue for me last year. I was typically playing down and in on 10 or so.
Now I release around 20 and play 10 at the arrows. The damn thing whips into the pocket at 40 ft every time.
So, your alley has a viper layout?
No, I just rev the shit out of it lol

No, I stay behind it, cup on the downswing, and just let my wrist collapse at the bottom.

If my swing is off that day, or I’m playing further inside, I just stay 45 degrees to the side and cupped the entire swing.

Your hand should never go beyond six and noon, it should be straight up and down. Any deviation will twist where you ball goes.

My mark is the third board, and it snaps in at the last three feet. I can't deviate too much with my hand or it will sink into the gutter.

Oof I never play the twig. You have zero miss room out there.

With enough revs, you get 3-4 boards at the arrows to still strike. That’s why I emphasize it so much. I don’t have to be super accurate to nail the pocket.

Well, I'm a southpaw, it helps more on that case, but yeah, I do almost a 20 board snap. It is so nice to hear the thunder of a sweet strike when the ball hits the pocket.

I can play out to the 5th board if I need to, but it depends on the oil patterns.
