Forgot to update on this. On Friday, the wind shifted, so we heard them, but only very faintly - they were further north and east. We didn't hear anything on Saturday.Smitty-48 wrote:Endex is "expected to be on Saturday", I don't have a timing for that. Probably in the morning tho, if they were going to Sunday morning, they'd say endex was Sunday. Probably going to church on Sunday tho, that's why endex is Saturday.Kath wrote:So, no more Saturday night or no more Sunday night?Smitty-48 wrote: I have my sources, let me know if it stops on Saturday, to verify.

They are fucking it up by talking about the TDY rule. That's technically a foul.

I thought it was only some loonies posing as war heros. The above is only possible where only 7% (or something) of the population have served in the military.
Everywhere else if you see a soldier in uniform, he or she is a) either going back to the barracks or b) coming from the military and hasn't yet had the time to change to civilian cloths. Officers don't spend one minute of their free time in uniform. Here nobody would walk around in uniform just for the sake of it ...or especially try to pose as a soldier when they aren't.
And btw, I never get used to how UCP stands out so well from anything (except that famous sofa).

Re: Current US Military
The US military has had its share of young officers, btw.
Custer was 23 when he got brevetted to brigadier general. Cavalry has been typically a branch where you have had very young generals during time of war. (Which is understandable if the cavalry makes charges with it's commanders leading it.)
