Conservatives don't really have a problem with authoritarianism or aristocracy. Democracy is their bugaboo.

Really depends on the brand. We have cool niche cliques like paleos and ancaps for some reason.

Not only that, he can recruit and use in his military forces people that he fought a bitter and bloody war with. Who btw are muslims, which people are so afraid about.

Here's an interesting documentary of Chechens serving as Russian military police in Syria. Basically you have now Chechens on both sides.

Didn't you have to serve in your shoe-wearing army? The only thing that matters is the unit, bro.

Rubber boots army.

So the country that you serve doesn't matter? Only pay?

But the example shows quite well the pragmatism of Putin. At least he knows that you don't win a war against a Muslim people by sticking to unabashed Islamophobia as you do.

Yes, they have to be happy now. Just like old Soviet times...

Back to the issue, what is going to be interesting to hear is what Roger Stone and Carter Page will say... if they are questioned by the House committee (assuming it will go on without turning into an independent investigation after Nunes). Not that they will acknowledge something, but they can easily dig their hole just like Sessions did, if they aren't totally honest.
Unlike other Trump aides, Stone has freely discussed his communications with Moscow-linked affiliates, including “Guccifer 2.0” — the hacker persona U.S. intelligence officials believe was a Russian front to launder stolen documents, but who Stone is not convinced is a Moscow asset — and WikiLeaks, the anti-secrecy site that published personal emails stolen from Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta.

Stone even cryptically tweeted about Podesta two weeks before the Clinton aide’s emails were dumped online, although Stone insists he did not know a leak was on the horizon and that the tweet was actually about an article he wrote on Podesta and his brother. Still, between the Podesta prediction and acknowledging he’d had contact with groups that helped disseminate stolen documents, Stone has “hit the trifecta,” Warner said.

“There’s certainly a lot of questions that I would like to ask him,” agreed Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

And Stone is an idiot who can easily make matters worse for him ...and Trump.

Uh ohs...
The Washington Post's Bob Woodward warned on Wednesday that there are people from the Obama administration who could be facing criminal charges for unmasking the names of Trump transition team members from surveillance of foreign officials.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said earlier that he had briefed Trump on new information, unrelated to an investigation into Russian activities, that suggested that several members of Trump's transition team and perhaps Trump himself had their identities "unmasked" after their communications were intercepted by U.S. intelligence officials.

The revelation is notable because identities of Americans are generally supposed to remain "masked" if American communications are swept up during surveillance of foreign individuals.

Anyway, this isn't going to end soon. And it is a very interesting story.

Far more interesting than that an old lady who turned into a politician (because his husband was one) had difficulties with new technology and government rules on handling official communications.

Far more interesting...
