Wayment: Does the warhead even have critical mass?

What's more embarrassing than dropping a dud on the opponent's turf?

It Could Be Close: Counting To 51 On The Nuclear Option
The most likely candidates in this regard are GOP Sens. Susan Collins, John McCain, and Lindsay Graham. All three were members of the “Gang of 14,” a bipartisan group of senators that reached an accord on confirmed Bush-era nominees without invoking the nuclear option in 2005. Other Republicans with something of a moderate streak, like Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Jeff Flake, might also oppose such a dramatic change.

Collins is the only Republican senator to express misgivings about the nuclear option thus far.

“Senator Collins is not a proponent of changing the rules of the Senate,” a Collins representative told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “She hopes that common sense will prevail and that we will have a normal process for considering Judge Gorsuch’s nomination.”

Bad play by the Dems if they filibuster this nomination. Then again, this is all being done for show. None of these SOBs really cares about doing their job, just playing up to those that pay them behind the scenes.

There is still a question if the Dems have the votes to sustain the filibuster. They know Gorsuch is the least objectionable of the nominees that were considered. They may want to save this fight for the next go round. You can talk about the Gang of 14 all you want but they all got blown up by Harry Reid the damage is already done this is just about finishing the job.

The fact these senators think they have the ability to stand or even sit at the level of Gorsuch is laughable.

tbh, Senator Warren deserves some kudos. She's the one who supported blowing up the Senate, the DNC, and the GOP with a preemptive strike.
