The John Galts of the Elites

Post by jbird4049 » Wed Jan 25, 2017 2:49 pm

Please forgive this bit of outrage porn...I just want to get this out of my system.

I sometimes think that the wealthy elites are the wealthy elites because they are idiot savants in wealth acquisition, who have either no clue about their negative effects because they are narcissistic, or that they don't care because they are psychopaths.

But elite anxiety is not just a gauge of our national predicament. It’s a cause. These are people who have the power and position of societal leaders. They built the plane, they own the plane, and they fly the plane. We are all flying along with them. And they are having serious conversations about bailing out rather than, I don’t know, changing course, preparing for a water landing — anything that suggests a concern for all the other people in the plane as something other than a threat.

The number of people whose wealth is equal to that of the poorest half of the world’s population since 2010:

Year Individuals
2010 388

2011 177

2012 159

2013 92

2014 80

2015 62

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

They don't care because they suffer no negative outcomes, themselves, and have little proximity to those that do.

We're all like that to some extent. Consider, over the last year, the amount of disdain heaped on the working classes of the world for their anger. We all damage the environment, but don't do much to stop.

Isn't it just a matter of perspective?

A bunker in of itself is not inherently secure, if you lock yourself in a bunker, it's going to take me no time at all to find the ventilation intakes and then block them, at which point, you're opening the door, a bunker is only effective, within the context of a comprehensive defense in depth, to wit, a bunker, defended by a considerable military force dug in around it, with a logistics tail and lines of communications to sustain it.

The reason to flee to New Zealand, is that it is inherently defensible and secured; by the New Zealand Defence Force, without the NZDF, there is no safe haven in New Zealand. New Zealand can actually be pretty rough, if you weren't protected by the NZDF, the locals would probably boil you in a pot, it's not like they are big fans of Americans.

You'd actually be much safer to flee to Canada, as we're really the only people who actually like Americans, being the only other Americans on earth in fact, in New Zealand, you could likely face the Haka, before they skinned you alive.

New Zealand? It's a giant trailer park full of Maori; they're fuckin' savages down there.

It is a matter of perception, true. It's just that the ones with the most control, and the most direct responsibility for the oncoming plane crash are looking for their parachutes rather than try to fix the plane or at least a softer crash landing.

My knowledge of New Zealanders is very lacking, but I thought they were nicer versions of Oz, or even Canada? So they are all crypto cannibals? :-)
