They use that phrase as a metaphor for destroying the corrupt establishment. I used it literally in this context.

The result of 40 partisan hacks defrauding the American people like that could easily be a constitutional crisis the likes of which have been unseen since the 1860s.

What exactly would be the 'Constitutional Crisis' that you envision? It would be following the Constitution to the letter of the law... Those electors exist to cast votes - they aren't all bound by the results, depending on their state laws. If they violate state law by changing their vote, then that individual elector would incur a fine, nothing more.

The only 'Crisis' would be the millions of Trumpians losing their shit over it.
