Even the CNN poll says Americans blame Trump less than Congress for this shutdown, and Senate Democrats get the biggest chunk of the blame. If you think a quote of Trump blaming Obama for the 2013 government shutdown is going to change that, you over-estimate the persuasiveness of hypocrisy. By the time 2020 rolls around, no one will really give a shit about this government shutdown anyway, which is probably why the Democrats are willing to take the hit on this one.

Senate rejects funding bill, just before shutdown deadline

Most Democrats voted against the bill as part of a risky strategy to force Republicans to negotiate with them on a legislative fix for Dreamers, illegal immigrants who came to the country at a young age and now face the prospect of deportation.

Only five Democrats voted to advance the bill — Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Joe Donnelly (Ind.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.) and Claire McCaskill (Mo.), who are all up for reelection this year in states carried by President Trump in 2016 election, and newly-elected Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.).

Well it seems to stand true. The Democrats were the ones (again) to shut down the Govt. and not the Republicans.

If a train crashes do we blame the passengers or the ones driving the train? So this is on the Republicans and on Trump. I mean they even had a bipartisan bill last week that would've funded CHIP and DACA but Trump rejected it. So some Republicans started to take things out and this is where we are now.

Oddly, the same Democrats that decry Trump as "Literally Hitler" are the same ones screeching about "Literally Hitler's" government shutting down.

When the passengers are rabid poo flinging monkeys, yes you can blame the passengers. Because that is exactly what the Democrats are right now. Passengers, and instead of trying to work with the Republicans, they are screeching and flinging poo all over the place... while blaming Trump and the Republicans for it.

Also, fuck DACA, if the Democrats want to hang themselves on that branch, and shut the government down in the process. I say let them, it just shows that they are more interested in supporting people who aren’t Americans than the Americans this shutdown is actually affecting.

LMFAO

Another female demonstrates a total lack of grasp of what agency means.

We hold men accountable for things they had CONTROL over (i.e. their own autonomous decisions), or what we expect them to have control over. We do not hold Trump accountable for what Congress does, and especially not what democrats in Congress decide to do. LMFAO. Is this the feminist thread? It's gold, Jerry!
